session in the boat on sat 10/04/2010
Myself and Paul got out in the boat on sat last. Got in the water for 6.30am with a lovely sun rise headed east. stopped off at the first mark. after a couple of the drops the fish finder went mad and sure enough a big shoal of coalie under us. we were catchin them as if they were like mackeral except alot bigger!!
After enough of coalie's caught we headed further east again and stopped off at a common enough mark. lots on gill nets around it but managed to avoid them.
had 5 or 6 good drifts of about 1/4 mile each with plenty of ling coalie and cod caught. weather was lovely with the sea near calm with just a little sting in the wind!
After we had enough fishin done!! we decided to go for a spin so headed up the river on the wexford side and stopped off in Passage for a chat! Be careful when u tie up in passage cas the ferry will come out of nowhere and the wash off it when its tryin the keep on the slip is crazy!!
Headed up the river all the way to Rice Bridge with the river flat calm twas nice to head up that way!! we were back in dunmore by 2 o'clock. just checked out on google earth and total distance we covered was 50 miles!!!
A great days fishing and sightseeing... and a good start to the season.. lets hope it continues for the summer..
heres a few pics.... blame the poor camera on the iphone for the quality!!
