And we are Off 2019!!!!
Yesterday 24th Feb 2019 saw the kick off competition for Rinnashark SAC, held on Woodstown strand 615 to 2115. An overcast but very mild night saw 15 anglers take to the beach. As well as the old reliable some new face on the beach which is always great to see. Carried forward after trialing last year the new prize structure, prizes been awarded for the 3 longest fish and the master angler points still worked out on the measure system. This is to cover pleasure anglers, big fish anglers and match anglers and get anglers out on the beach together socializing. With the conditions and tide fishing was expected to be good, but it was a slow first hour before the fish came on the feed and some good numbers started coming in for some anglers, everyone connecting with fish over the night.
A total of 90 fish comprising of flats, bass, coalies, rockling and eels.
Prize winners for longest fish were
1st Declan Flanagan
2nd Nicky Walshe
3rd Paul Roberts.
Well done lads
Points for the Master
1st Conor Purcell 13 fish
2nd Brian O Neill 11 fish
3rd Barry Murphy 13 fish
well done to all who turned up and hopefully had an enjoyable eve, our next competition is 10th March on Cheekpoint strand where the main species will be cod and main baits lug and crab. New members welcome.
