rinnashark 2012 boats

This year's Boat Master Angler will be held over 4 competitions again. We will have some pleasure trips too. It will be run over 4 legs and prizes at the end of year. Pool optional on the day for species/score, up to anglers on the day.


Prices are based on 9 anglers on the boats, prices will change if people pull out and can't get stand ins. Places filled on first come basis, so get in touch with me if interested. Money to be paid the week before the competition .

today was the first leg of the rinnashark master angler boat competition of 2012.we were on angus boat for a full days fishing with the first 4 hours competetion and the evening pleasure fishing.five club anglers turned out and 3 lads from dublin .we fished 9-4pm weather was nice.with reports from the efsa competition the day before been really bad cos of the north east wind it didnt look good ,but angus did put us on the fish even tho not as plenty full as normal some nice cod and ling plenty of ballan wrasse and cukoo wrasse(two of witch must have been specimens).11 species were landed over the day.

canceled due to bad weather will update a new date as soon as i have it sorted.

after having to cancel he 2nd comp due to bad weather it was good to see that the 3rd competition was going to go ahed in great weather the sea was like glass .
8 anglers turned out.
we stopped in a few spots for mackerel before the competition but the were patchy with only a hand full caught.
angus dropped the anchor for the start of the competition and the dogs and a few wrasse and pollock came in a bit quiter then hoped angus was keen to get us on the fish so he lifted the anchor and we drifted the 2nd half of the competition.
straight away fishing speeded up with some nice cod to 5.8lb a few big pollock and nplenty of good ballan wrasse the odd poor cod and a cuckoo wrasse.

3rd boat comp went ahead tonight with only 7 anglers.the weather was lovely and with angus having plenty of fresh mackerel on board for us before we start we were right into the comp.cod and pollock were slow with only a few coming in but loads of wrasse and bits and peaces. a total of 8 species been caught (ballan wrasse ,cuckoo wrasse,cod,pollock,ling,poor cod,gery gurnard,dogfish).

Last year due to bad weather we had to cancel a competition and we are planning on running the canceled last leg of 2012 SUN 3RD FEB
next years Master angler is out of kilmore. the table so far is:
